Man Shot In The Head And Killed In Washington Heights: Police

The uptown shooting unfolded Wednesday about 10 p.m. near West 163rd Street and Riverside Drive, NYPD said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man was shot and killed in Washington Heights on Wednesday night, police said.

Officers responded to an assault about 10 p.m at West 163rd Street and Riverside Drive and arrived to find a 44-year-old man shot in the head and chest, police said.

The man was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he died a short time later, police said.

The victim's identity was not released pending proper family notification.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
