Man Shot On Inwood Street, Police Say
The man walked into an Inwood emergency room Monday night after being shot on the street.

INWOOD, NY — A man was shot on an Inwood street Monday night after an argument turned violent, an NYPD spokesman said.
The man, who was not identified, was walking away from a group of people after an argument around 9:15 p.m. when one of the people he was arguing with opened fire and shot him from behind, police said. The shooting occurred in front of 25 Post Avenue, located between Dyckman and Academy streets, police said.
The man who was shot was taken by private means to the Allen Hospital and walked into the emergency room around 12:45 a.m., police said. The man suffered non life-threatening wounds, police said.

The victim was "highly uncooperative" with police investigators at the hospital, an NYPD spokesman said.
Tthere were only three previous shooting incidents recorded this year in the NYPD's 34th Precinct as of July 15, according to NYPD crime statistics. The 34th Precinct covers Washington Heights north of West 179th Street and the entire Inwood neighborhood. In those three previous shootings there were three recorded victims, according to the NYPD's statistics.
