Man Stabbed To Death In Washington Heights Park: Police

A Bed-Stuy resident died Sunday after being stabbed multiple times in Fort Washington Park, police said. NYPD have made an arrest.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man was stabbed to death Sunday in a Washington Heights park, police said.

Ricardo Sanchez, 29, was found with multiple stab wounds to his chest, arm, and neck within Fort Washington Park near West 165th Street and Riverside about 3:53 p.m., police said.

The Brooklyn resident was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Hours later, Upper Manhattan resident Ronald Guilcapi, 24, was arrested and charged with murder in connection to the stabbing, police said.

PIX11 reported that the two men were playing soccer when an argument and fight broke out. The fight escalated and Guilcapi grabbed a nearby broken bottle and used it to stab Sanchez, PIX11 added.
