Man Stabbed To Death In Washington Heights: Police

A 45-year-old man was fatally stabbed a little after 5 a.m. on Thursday near West 158th Street and Riverside Drive, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A man was stabbed to death in Washington Heights early Thursday morning, police said.

The 45-year-old was found stabbed in the upper chest near West 158th Street and Riverside Drive about 5:20 a.m., police said.

Medics rushed the wounded man to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, but doctors could not save his life, police said.

The weapon has yet to be found and no arrests had been made as of Thursday morning, police said.

The fatal stabbing happened less than 12 hours after a 17-year-old was shot in the chest and killed in the nearby Polo Ground NYCHA Complex at West 157th Street, police said.

The two violent uptown crimes this week follow five people getting shot in Washington Heights last week in two separate shootings, but in incidents that saw everybody survive.
