Man's Body Pulled From Harlem River, Police Say

The man was pronounced dead after being taken to ashore, police said.

HARLEM, NY — Police are investigating the cause of death of a man whose body was pulled from the Harlem River on Thursday morning, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police officers responded to the Macombs Dam Bridge near West 155th Street around 11:40 a.m. after receiving a report of a man's body floating in the river, police said. Dive teams were able to locate the body and bring the man ashore, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The man was fully clothed and was not showing signs of apparent injuries, an NYPD spokesman said. Police did not identify the man, but said he's likely in his 30s.

An autopsy will be conducted by the city medical examiner to determine the man's exact case of death, an NYPD spokesman said.
