Manslaughter Charge In Inwood Collision That Killed 2 People: NYPD
An arrest was made Wednesday, more than a month after two cars collided at West 207th Street, before one of the vehicles struck two people.

INWOOD, NY — NYPD arrested and charged a man with manslaughter more than a month after two cars collided in Inwood, sending one of the vehicles spinning out and and killing two people standing on the street, police said.
Bronx resident Leandro Diaz-Ramirez was charged Wednesday with manslaughter, criminal negligent homicide and assault in connection with the Aug. 3 incident, police said.
Joel Adames, 31, and David Fernandez, 40, both died following the crash at the corner of Sherman Avenue and 207th Street, police said.

Adames was an Isham Street resident.
The crash happened around 4 a.m., as a person driving a BMW north t-boned a Subaru that was stopped at the 207th Street intersection, according to the NYPD.

The Subaru then hit two unoccupied parked cars, and careened into the two male pedestrians, police said.
Multiple other people in the nearby area were also injured in the crash, police said.
Adames was rushed to the NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital, while Fernandez was taken to Harlem Hospital, but neither could be saved, police said.
Adames was a friend of the music artist Cardi B, who shared a social media post about his death, reported PIX11.
"Stupidness, negligence, I hope the worst to who committed this! she wrote. "Took someone sooo loved, full of life and just all around amazing leaving people destroyed..RIP JOEL."
Both drivers remained at the scene, including Diaz-Ramirez, police said.
