Mysterious Fire In Highbridge Park Leads To Shocking Discovery: NYPD

NYPD and FDNY responded to a brush fire on Wednesday afternoon. They found an "extremely" burned female body, police confirmed.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY – Officials responded to a brush fire in Highbridge Park at about 4:30 p.m on Wednesday afternoon, near Edgecombe Avenue and Jumel Place, just across the street from the 33rd Precinct.

When the fire was extinguished, they made a grisly discovery: an “extremely” burned female body, according to police.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Thursday morning, an NYPD spokesperson had "no updates."
