It is the weekend before July 4, and there are a variety of events going on around the city in the next couple of days.

This weekend's events include a Ricky Gervais comedy show in Manhattan and a July 4th celebration on the Coney Island Boardwalk.

Ricky Gervais at Radio City Music Hall: Midtown, Manhattan
The famed comedian will perform at the Radio City Music Hall on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
Gervais is visiting the New York City venue as part of his "Armageddon" tour.

Tiny Desk Contest On The Road: Prospect Park, Brooklyn
The popular Tiny Desk concert series will take its show on the road Saturday night at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect park.
The free concert will showcase a variety of up-and-coming talent, as well as the French-Lebanese trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf.

Riverside Park Summer Concert Series: Upper West Side, Manhattan
The CCB Reggae All Stars will perform Saturday night in a free concert in Riverside Park adjacent to the Hudson River.
The concert will go from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The free show boasting the "best standup comedy in Queens" will take place Saturday night at the Culture Lab LIC at 5-25 46th Avenue.

The Day Party: Coney Island Board Walk, Brooklyn
Ashanti and Ja Rule will be leading a party and concert Sunday on the Coney Island Boardwalk.
The day of celebration will run from 3 to 10 p.m.

You'll have to land tickets, but if you do, Shakespeare in the Park's "Hamlet" is a great option for a Sunday night.
