One Dead, One Hospitalized In Heights Shooting: Police
Officials are investigating a deadly late-night shooting in Washington Heights that left one man dead and another injured.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY – A man was killed in a shooting just after midnight in Washington Heights on Wednesday, authorities said.
At about 12:05 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting at West 160th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, officials said.
Officers found an unidentified man with a gunshot wound to the chest at the scene, according to police. Emergency responders rushed the victim to Harlem Hospital but were unable to save him, and the man was pronounced dead, police said.

His identity is pending at this time, according to officials, and an NYPD spokesperson confirmed that there were no updates as of 5:50 p.m. on Thursday.
Authorities subsequently learned that a 25-year-old man had been transported to New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center via private means. The second victim, who was shot in the left ankle, is currently in stable condition, police said.
