Person Hit By Train At Uptown Station, MTA Says
EMS rushed the victim to Columbia University Medical Center and 1 trains were delayed in Upper Manhattan Tuesday morning.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS-INWOOD, NY — A person was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being hit by a train at an Upper Manhattan station, FDNY and MTA officials said.
The person was struck by a northbound 1 train at the West 191st Street and St. Nicholas Avenue station around 6:30 a.m., MTA officials said. EMS responded to the scene and rushed the person to Columbia University Medical Center, an FDNY spokesman said.
The FDNY spokesman could not confirm details about the person's identity or condition.

The MTA cut power to the 191st Street station as first responders operated on scene, forcing the transit agency to suspend 1 train service between 145th Street and Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street in both directions. Service on the line was restored with extensive delays shortly before 7:30 a.m., transit officials said.
The MTA advised Upper Manhattan commuters to consider alternate routes Tuesday morning such as the A and C trains or buses.
