Person Injured After Fire In Wash Heights Residential Building

A fire broke out around 7 p.m. Thursday within a 20-story building at 17 Fort George Hill in Upper Manhattan, FDNY told Patch.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A person was injured after a fire broke out Thursday evening in an Upper Manhattan residential building, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch.

The flames ignited at 6:59 p.m. on the 17th floor of a 20-story building at 17 Fort George Hill, FDNY said.

The flames were under control by 7:32 p.m., according to the FDNY.

The individual who was hurt was taken to Harlem Hospital with a minor injury, the spokesperson said.
