WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A person was struck and killed by a 1 train in Washington Heights on Thursday morning, according to officials.
At around 11:45 a.m., a person was struck by a 1 train at the 181st Street station, according to the MTA.
FDNY officials told Patch that the person was declared dead at the scene, but had no further details on the incident.

The MTA said that 1 train service is currently suspended between 145 St and Van Cortlandt Park-242 St. while emergency crews responded to the accident, according to a post on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.
