Popular Farmer's Market Returning To Washington Heights For The Summer

The Fort Washington Greenmarket will kick off again for the summer on Tuesday. Here's what to know.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — A popular Washington Heights farmer's market is returning to the neighborhood for the summer on Tuesday.

The Fort Washington Greenmarket will run every Tuesday until November 21 at 168th Street and Fort Washington Ave. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"Neighborhood residents and staff from New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University Medical Center flock to this Washington Heights market for its bounty of fresh, locally grown offerings," reads a news release from GROW NYC.

The market accepts cash, credit and debit cards, SNAP and EBT, Healthfirst OTC Plug and Humana Health options insurance menus, WIC and Senior FMNP coupons, and Greenmarket Bucks.

  • Ballard's Honey: Honey from Delaware County, NY.
  • Body & Soul Natural Gourmet: Vegan and gluten-free baked foods from Manhattan.
  • Bread Alone: Artisan breads, mostly certified organic, and pastries from Ulster County, New York.
  • Central Valley Farm: Vegetables, small fruit, eggs, cheese, butter, preserved products from Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
  • Locust Grove Fruit Farm/OP Kent & Sons: Orchard fruit, berries, grapes and squash, along with cider and baked good from Ulster County, New York.
  • Morgiewicz Produce: Vegetables from Orange County, New York.
  • Nolasco's Farm: Vegetables, Mexican specialty produce, herbs, and cut flowers from Warren County, New Jersey.
  • Prospect Hill Orchards: Orchard and small fruit, some certified organic, granola, and baked goods from Ulster County, New York.
