Radio Hotel In Washington Heights To Have Ribbon Cutting July 25
The full-service boutique hotel has views of Downtown Manhattan, an underground parking garage, an event space and a rooftop lounge.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The Radio Hotel, a full-service boutique hotel, will have a ribbon cutting on July 25 at 12 p.m.
The hotel, located at 2420 Amsterdam Ave. at the corner of 181st Street, is easily identified by its colorful block structure was designed internationally renowned architecture firm MVRDV and hospitality-focused design firm Stonehill Taylor to reflect existing architectural patterns found throughout Washington Heights. The 22-story colorful structure is inspired by the creativity, diversity and vibrancy of the Washington Heights community, according to the hotel.
Each section of the high-rise is modeled after a nearby building in the area ... The New York City-based project developers Youngwoo & Associates also worked alongside community leaders, including City Council and Yeshiva University, to intentionally design an inclusive development that meets neighborhood needs and brings elevated amenities to the area, added the hotel.

Bryan Woo, director of acquisitions for Youngwoo & Associates, the developer of the project, said the hotel was an effort of passion.
"MVRDV's design [was] made to be reflective of the Heights: each block of the tower mirrors existing architectural patterns and the vibrant colors of local storefronts around the block," Woo said via email to Patch. "Washington Heights is a singular destination and we built Radio Hotel and Tower as a love-letter to this community. We can't wait to welcome you all."

The hotel has 221 rooms, a Latin-fusion restaurant, a courtyard, a rooftop lounge with panoramic views of Downtown Manhattan, a 170-spot underground public parking garage and spaces for events, an office and retail.
From the rooftop lounge, guests would be able to also see the George Washington Bridge and the Harlem River. If people are more interested in throwing a party, they could utilize an event space that is 10,000 square feet. New businesses seeking an office would have up to 170,000 square feet to use.
The hotel has bunk beds to king beds, ADA rooms and offers complimentary wifi with access to streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, Pandora and more. There is also 24/7 access to Radio Hotel’s Fitness Center, according to the hotel's website.
Guests who book in advance of their stay can receive an up to 25 percent discount and there are special rates for federal government workers and AAA and AARP members, according to the website.
