Suspicious Substance At Uptown NYPD Precinct Nonhazardous: Police
The 34th NYPD Precinct reported a suspicious substance at its precinct house Thursday afternoon.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Reports of a suspicious substance caused a brief scare at an Uptown Manhattan police precinct Thursday afternoon.
Emergency units were called in to the 34th NYPD precinct house at 4295 Broadway, located between West 183rd and 184th streets, around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, an NYPD spokeswoman said. After checking out the substance, the situation was deemed nonhazardous.
Police officials did not reveal what the substance was.

No police officers were hurt during the incident, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
The 34th precinct serves the Washington Heights and Inwood neighborhoods from West 179th Street to the northern tip of Manhattan.
