Teen Robbed At Gunpoint During Inwood Home Invasion, Police Say

A man stalked a 16-year-old boy to a Sherman Avenue home, broke in and robbed the family at gunpoint.

INWOOD, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man accused of following a teenager to his Inwood home and robbing the boy and his family at gunpoint, police said.

The home invasion robbery occurred on the night of Sept. 25 when an unknown man stalked a 16-year-old boy to a home on Sherman Avenue and Academy Street, police said. When the teenager entered the home, the unknown man knocked on the door and rushed inside with a gun when it was opened, police said.

The home invader punched the teenager in the face and stole credit cards, cell phones, jewelry and about $6,300 in cash during the robbery, police said. The teen refused medical attention at the scene of the crime, police said.

Police released a photo of the suspect (seen above) that was taken by a surveillance camera outside a bodega in the Bronx.
