Teen Stabbed In Staircase For Backpack In Washington Heights: Video
The teenager's wallet and keys were inside the backpack, according to police, who are trying to nab the suspect depicted in the photo.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Police released a surveillance video Saturday of a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery and assault that took place last Wednesday.
In the video, the suspect can be seen using a knife to stab an 18-year-old at least six times before taking the teen’s backpack.

The victim’s keys and wallet were inside the bookbag, according to police.
The assault initially took place at the staircase inside the apartment complex located at 86 Fort Washington Ave. on Aug. 17, the NYPD reported.

The suspect later fled on foot on Fort Washington Ave. and the victim went to New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in stable condition, authorities added.
