WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The Tony Awards took place in Washington Heights for the first time in the award's show history on Sunday night.
Stars of the theater world made the journey uptown to the United Palace Theatre between West 175th and 176th streets and Broadway.
The show went successfully despite it not having a script due to the ongoing writer's strike, with many of the winners on the night praising the writers during their speeches.
