Uptown Theater Company Hosting Final Shows At Wash Heights Church
Upper Manhattan's UP Theater Company is celebrating its 13th season with a show about a punk band in Missouri.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — An Upper Manhattan theater company is nearing the conclusion of its two-week show about a punk band from Missouri at Washington Height's Fort Washington Collegiate Church.
UP Theater Company, which is in its 13th season of production in Northern Manhattan, is performing the world premiere of "The Best Punk Band in Conway, Missouri: An Oral History of Presley Cox and The Fallout Five."
The show first started running at the 181st Street church on May 3 and will continue to do so until Saturday.

The new semi-musical piece by Kirby Fields focuses on members of a regionally infamous 1988 punk band who struggle with their past in an effort to get a better grip of their reality.
The UP Theater Company has a cast of eight playing nearly 50 roles.

The company includes Jason Guy, Lisa Graham Parson, Devin Romero, Samantha Simone, Henry Temple, Kirk White, Jess Wood, and Zuzu.
The original music was written by Phillip Yanos.

The UP Theater Company's company is made up of mostly actors and artists who live in Northern Manhattan. It was established in 2010 and has fully produced over 10 world premieres.
UP received funding from the Miranda Family Fund, the Manhattan Borough President's Office the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone, and the Neighborhood Fund of Columbia University Medical Center — among others.
Almost all of its performances are in Washington Heights or Inwood.
