Wash Heights Film Series To Kick Off With Lin-Manuel Miranda Convo
"Movies at the United Palace" will return in April with an in-person conversation between Lin-Manuel Miranda and director Darren Aronofsky.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The movie series at the United Palace Theatre in Washington Heights is returning this month, and it will kick off with an in-person conversation with Lin-Manuel Miranda.
"Movies at the United Palace," which uptown native Miranda has helped lead since 2013, will begin again on April 24 with the a screening of "Black Swan."
The screening will be followed by a "talk back" with Miranda and "Black Swan" director Darren Aronofsky.

Aronofsky also directed "The Wrestler," and most recently "The Whale," which featured Brendan Fraser's Oscar-winning best actor performance.
Admission is free with an online ticket, which will become available on April 17.

"Miranda has been involved in MOVIES AT THE UNITED PALACE since 2013 when he helped the theatre’s fund-raising campaign to purchase a new projector, screen, and surround sound system to return movies to the theatre after a 40-year hiatus," reads a message from the United Palace.
Just in last year's programming, the guests included Steven Spielberg, Spike Lee, Hugh Jackman, and Danai Gurira.
Nearly 15,000 people attended the uptown film series last year.
The 2023 movie series has confirmed the following titles, but the dates, other films, and special guests have not yet been announced.
- "When Harry Met Sally"
- "The Devil Wears Prada"
- "If Beale Street Could Talk"
New York-Presbyterian supports the film series alongside the Miranda Family Fund.
