A shamrock is a symbol commonly associated with Ireland and St. Patrick's Day. It is specifically associated with the rebirth of the spring season.

It is sometimes depicted as a four-leaf clover, but it is really a three-leaf clover that can be found growing in Ireland and many parts of Europe.

The connection to the holiday comes from a story about St. Patrick using a three-leaf shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity.
