The Sir William's Dog Run in Fort Tryon Park was just included on a list of the best dog parks in New York City.

"At the northern tip of Manhattan, you’ll find the largest public dog run (in Manhattan)," the editors wrote. "The vast one-acre space was recently renovated, and dog parents come from all over the city so their pups can have a little extra space to roam. It includes separate fenced areas for both big and small dogs."
Volunteers at the dog run also sponsor monthly Coffee Bark mornings for puppy parents to get to know each other, cleanup days, and a Halloween costume contest.
Over the years, one complaint has been that the dog run doesn't have a water fountain for dogs or humans.
It appears that a water fountain is in the works, though, after Upper Manhattan Council Member Carmen De La Rosa secured $300,000 in the most recent budget for the dog park.
"She views this as a down payment toward the capital reconstruction of water service at the run," Fort Tryon Sir William Dog Run.
