The United Palace is the fourth largest theater in Manhattan, and is a New York City landmark.

The uptown theater has received added attention as of late after being named as the venue of the 2023 Tony Awards.

“We are excited to bring the Tony Awards to the historic United Palace for the first time,” said Heather Hitchens, President and CEO of the American Theatre Wing, and Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League, in a joint statement.

After a shuttering during the pandemic, the United Palace Theater reopened in the winter of 2021 with a series of free film screenings.

The United Palace theater reopened with some major renovations, including a brand new screen and improved surround sound. While there are new traits to the theater, the renovations were made with the thought of keeping the venue's old-school aesthetic intact.
