WEST VILLAGE, NY — A new Italian restaurant and a new Mexico-city inspired bar are coming to the West Village.
San Sabino, a new Italian place from the owners of Don Angie, are set to open a 52-seat eatery inside the former longtime home of Benny's Burritos at 113 Greenwich St., according to Community Board 2 documents, plus 12 seats at the bar.
The restaurant will aim to serve Italian American "quality food at an accessible price point in a friendly atmosphere," according to their liquor license application.

According to Eater, who first reported the new spot, owners Scott Tacinelli and Angie Rito first opened Don Angie in 2017, and held a Michelin star from 2021 until this year.
Further down the street is Bar Nena, a Mexican bar on Carmine Street, near Varick Street.
The hidden space is beneath a popular vegan Mexican restaurant, Jajaja, run by the same owners, and is said to be New York's first Mexican fermented beverage bar, according to Secret NYC, and just opened its doors days ago.
Inside, the space is awash in warm tones and modernist shapes with generous curves and covered in terracotta tiling.
Drink offerings include the fermented Pulque, an alcoholic drink made from agave sap that is similar to a wine and is "deeply rooted in Mesoamerican culture," reads the bar's menu.
Other cocktails feature combinations made with coconut horchata, prickly pear, passion fruit, corn and jackfruit.
You can find Bar Nena downstairs at 63 Carmine St.
