Attackers Cut Two Men In Greenwich Village, Police Say

A group of robbers attacked and stole from two men within 30 minutes in the Village on Wednesday morning.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Police are searching for a group of robbers who attacked two people in Greenwich Village early on Wednesday morning.

According to police, a group of five people approached a 55-year-old man on Wednesday at about 12:30 a.m. near West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue. The group punched and kicked the man multiple times and cut him across his face before grabbing $30 from the man, police said in a statement. The group of five ran from the street corner, and the 55-year-old man was transported to the hospital for treatment. Just about 25 minutes later and a short walk away, near the corner of Seventh Avenue and W 13th Street, the group approached a 23-year-old and asked for his valuables, police said. When the 23-year-old man refused, one of the group cut him on his hand and face while the rest grabbed his cell phone and $50 in cash, police said. The 23-year-old man was transported to the hospital for treatment.
