Bleecker Street Pizza Ranked Second Best Pie In The U.S.
Tripadvisor ranked NYC the country's pizza capitol with Bleecker Street Pizza as the city's top pizzeria.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Tripadvisor has ranked Bleecker Street Pizza as the second best spot in the country to grab a slice.
The travel and restaurant site released its list of top ten eateries and cities for pizza across the U.S. based on millions of reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor diners. New York took the pie for best pizza city in the country with Bleecker Street Pizza in the West Village landing the number two spot on the site's list of ten best pizzerias in the nation.
Slices at the Village staple are made fresh with ingredients including parmigiano-reggiano cheese shipped directly from Italy, which the store pays $1,000 for each week, according to Tony Salihaj one of the pizzeria's co-owners.

The tiny pizza parlor is also famous for its "Nonna Maria" pies, which are made from a family recipe using fresh mozzarella, homemade marinara sauce, aged parmigiano-reggiano and fresh basil on a thin Tuscan-style crust.
Customers visit from across the globe to take a bite out of Bleecker Street's pizza. The owners even tried to ship a pie to one eager London foodie, but it did not end well for the pizza, according to Salihaj.

The West Village spot was only second to Regina Pizzeria in Boston, Massachusetts in the city's Little Italy section of the North End. It's staple pie is, "The Giambotta" topped with pepperoni, Regina sausage, salami, mushrooms, peppers, onions, fresh basil and mozzarella cheese.
Juliana's Pizza in Brooklyn Heights also landed on Tripadvisor's list as the nation's sixth best pizza with it's famed "Classic Margherita,” featuring fresh San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella and basil.
