Burglar Steals $38K From Greenwich Village Apartments: NYPD
A man has thrice broken into apartments in a specific part of the Village, according to police.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — This burglar seems to love this one section of Greenwich Village, so much so that police say this one robber is behind three break-in's over two days this week.
The mystery man climbed into three different apartments near Mercer Street and West Fourth Street by climbing in through windows, police said, and made off with around $38,000 worth of goods in total.
During the first theft, on Tuesday, the robber entered an apartment through a rear window at around 8 p.m. and stole about $33,000 of jewelry, police said.

The person fled by using the scaffolding near the window, police noted.
Both of the other two break-in's occurred on Wednesday — and less than an hour apart, officials said.

At about 5 a.m., the robber used an unlocked rear window to enter the apartment, but soon left without stealing anything, police said.
Just 40 minutes later, the man found a more fruitful apartment, entering through a side window and eventually leaving with two iPhones, electronics and personal items totaling nearly $5,000, police claimed.
Police said that the man was last seen wearing a black shirt with a white New York Yankee symbol on the back and the word "Crisp" on the front.
No injuries were reported over the course of the break-in's, officials said.
