Downtown Trains Delayed By Person On West 4th Street Tracks: MTA

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Multiple Lower Manhatttan trains are delayed and rerouted Tuesday afternoon while NYPD responds to an unauthorized person on the tracks at West 4th Street-Washington Square station, according to the MTA.

As of 2:53 on Tuesday, there is no service along the D/F/M lines in most of Midtown/Lower Manhattan, and delays are expected on the C and E lines, according to the MTA.

Furthermore, F trains are running on the E line in both directions between West 4th Street and Jackson Heights-Roosvelt Avenue, and M trains are running on the E line between 5th Avenue/ 53rd Street and West 4th Street.

MTA did not specify more than an unauthorized person being on the tracks. Police did not immediately respond.

The Lower Manhattan train delays come as police continue to search for a man who shot 10 people in a subway train packed with rush-hour commuters in Brooklyn before fleeing in a gas mask and construction vest, according to the NYPD and mayor's officials.
