Emily Pizza Opens In Manhattan

Emily, the popular Brooklyn pizza joint, opened its first Manhattan storefront in June.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Emily, one of Brooklyn's favorite pizza spots, has opened its first Manhattan storefront.

Emily opened in the West Village last week at 35 Downing St., generating a lot of enthusiasm from fans of the Brooklyn-based pizzeria.

The pizza parlor, which boasts unique and artisanal pies baked in wood-fired ovens, has been a darling of Brooklyn since it first opened. The West Village location boasts some of the oldest ovens in New York City, according to Emily's website. The 150-year-old oven on Downing Street was previously the heat behind the Blue Ribbon restaurant chain before it closed last year after nearly 20 years in the Village. (Want more local news? The mini-chain first launched in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn in 2014, before adding sister-restaurant Emmy Squared in Williamsburg.
