For many decades the building was famously home to the Rambusch Design Studio, a firm responsible for decorating and lighting the iconic interiors of the Roxy Theatre, the Mark Hellinger Theatre, innumerable churches and many others. The firm also specialized in lighting and stained glass, helping to illuminate the Lever House, Grand Central Terminal, Macy's and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, according to the New York Times.

The firm decamped for New Jersey in 1999 and their former home was converted to seven condos.
