Fire Sparks At Elizabeth Street Apartment In Little Italy: FDNY

LITTLE ITALY, NY — An apartment building caught on fire on Elizabeth Street Thursday morning, an FDNY spokesperson said.

The fire broke out about 10:35 a.m. at 90 Elizabeth St. near Grand Street, sending 60 firefighters to douse the flames on the fifth floor of the six floor walk-up, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said the fire was under control by about 11 a.m., and no one was hurt.

Citizen App videos show firefighters on the fire escape outside of a burnt out apartment, and fire trucks lined the streets near the building.
