French Roast Closes For 'Renovation'
The Greenwich Village favorite shut its doors this week after 24 years.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — The longtime diner French Roast shut its doors this week, in what looks like a permanent closure for the Village favorite.
The hybrid cafe-diner-restaurant first opened at 78 W 11th St. in 1993. The popular Village standby remained opened 24 hours a day for years, before briefly pausing its 24-service in 2015.
