Greenwich Village Hot Dog Spot Is Most Searched For In New York City

In honor of July 4, Google released the most-searched for hot dog spots in the city, and a Greenwich Village shop was named No. 1.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Greenwich Village just earned a whole lot of hot dog pride.

A neighborhood shop was just named by Google as the most-searched for hot dog spot on the search engine in New York City.

Google released data on Wednesday — in honor of the upcoming July 4 holiday — on the most-searched hot dog venues in New York City and across the United States.

Papaya Dog, at 333 Sixth Ave., is the most-searched for hot dog seller in New York City and the fifth most searched for in the entire United States, according to Google.

Here are the four most-searched for spots in the city, and their national rankings:

  1. Papaya Dog, Greenwich Village (Ranked #5)
  2. Snack Box, Midtown (Ranked #7)
  3. Chelsea Papaya, Chelsea (Ranked #9)
  4. Billy’s Hot Dog Cart, Upper West Side (Ranked #15)

Papaya Dog is open every day from 10:30 to 4:30 a.m. and serves up hot dogs for $3.99.

You can also get a two hot dog special with a 20 oz. drink for $8.99.

"Food is priced so well, and the quality is amazing," a person named Michael wrote as a review. "This is my new go-to restaurant on Seamless. The food always arrives within 20-30 minutes."

Google also revealed the top 10-rated hot dog spots in New York, unfortunately, Papaya Dog didn't make the list, but for those who are curious — here's who did.
