GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — The bakery backed by celebrity chef Tom Colicchio is expanding into soft serve, just in time for New York City's first heat wave of the summer.
The popular Mah Ze Dahr bakery, located at 28 Greenwich Ave., has expanded its menu — and its hours — to include soft serve. (For more news from the West Village, subscribe here for free breaking news alerts from Patch.)

Founder and head chef Umber Ahmad opened a brick-and-mortar outpost of the celebrated bakery brand in September 2016, with celebrity chef Tom Colicchio joining as an advisor.

"Soft serve is fresher than regular ice cream because it’s churned to order, and it’s also lower in fat," Ahmad told the New York Times, which was first to note the expanded menu.
