Man Punched In The Head And Robbed In The West Village: Police

The man was walking down 14th Street when a robber began demanding his cell phone, police said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A man was punched in the back of the head and robbed in the West Village, police said on Tuesday.

A 59-year-old man was walking near 411 W. 14th St. about 3:20 a.m. on Sept. 16, when a soon to be robber came up from behind him and demanded his cell phone, police said.

The robber then punched the man in the head, knocking him to the ground, before grabbing his iPhone 13 from his pocket and running away, police said.

The 59-year-old had minor injuries, but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

NYPD describe the man wanted for the robbery as in his twenties, 6 feet tall, and 160 pounds with a slim build.
