Man Slashed In Neck Outside Of Greenwich Village Bar: Police

A unknown person left a man with a large gash in his neck following a 5 a.m. argument outside of the Bleecker Street bar, police said.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A man was slashed in the neck outside of a Bleecker Street bar early Friday morning, police said.

At about 5 a.m., a stranger began arguing with a 33-year-old man outside of a bar on Bleecker and Thompson streets, officials said.

The unknown man then slashed the 33-year-old in the neck, causing a large gash, according to police.

First responders rushed the man to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, police said.

While the incident took place outside of a bar, police could not specify if the assault had any connection to the establishment, which lists a closing time of 4 a.m.

Officials said the slasher fled east on Bleecker Street, crossing LaGuardia Place, and remains at large.

Police released an image of a person they claim is connected to the slashing.
