Massive New Food Hall Coming To Lower Manhattan: What To Know
A new 16,000-square-foot food hall is opening along the Hudson River near Little Island, just north of 14th Street.

LOWER MANHATTAN, NY — The celebrated James Beard Foundation is heading a new 16,000 square-foot food hall in Lower Manhattan, just north of 14th Street and within seeing distance of Little Island.
The new food hall space, which will also hold Google office and other restaurants and galleries, is located at Pier 57, along the Hudson River Greenway in between West 15th and 16th Streets.
The food hall is expected to open this fall with 18 different vendors, but the specifics have not been revealed yet.

Most of the vendors are expected to be local New York businesses.
“The James Beard Foundation is committed to celebrating, supporting, and elevating the people behind America’s food culture,” said Kris Moon, President and COO of the foundation, in a statement. “Pier 57 is an exciting opportunity to bring our Good Food for Good™ philosophy to both the industry and food lovers as part of a vibrant, community-centered space.”

It's not the first time that Pier 57 is set to become a headline-catching culinary destination. It was expected to be the destination of the late Anthony Bourdain's Singaporean street food-inspired market, but the plans fell through in 2017.
Show kitchens and demo spaces will also exist within the food hall to offer classes for the public.
While the food hall will be roughly 16,000 square feet, it is just a chunk of the 50,000 square-foot public ground floor that will go along with the Pier 57 rebuild.
The Hudson River Trust, along with Jamestown for Google, RXR and Youngwoo & Associates are developing the site.
