Blossom on University

The eatery that specializes in "refined vegan dining" shuttered in October after announcing that it would be focusing its effort on its Upper West Side location.

"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of our Greenwich Village location, Blossom on University," the restaurant wrote on its Instagram. "Closing a business is never a decision made lightly, but we are grateful for the chance to focus our energies and resources on our flagship Upper West Side location - Blossom (507 Columbus Ave) - with the hopes of making it the very best plant-based dining destination in New York City."

The Blossom endeavor in Greenwich Village got off to a tough start when it opened in 2020 amid the height of the COVID pandemic.

"You will be so sadly missed but will invest that much more love on Columbus!" one person commented on its Instagram.

232 Bleecker

The sit-down restaurant from Dig shuttered this fall after almost three years in the neighborhood.

"Like this city we love, 232 Bleecker is changing too," the restaurant wrote on its Instagram. "It’s been our honor to serve, dine, and change with you over these past several years, and we look forward to cooking for you again – with heart and hearth – real soon."

While the restaurant is shuttering, it looks like the Dig team will be bringing a new type of eatery to the space.

"Been devastated until I saw this post - glad you’re coming back in a fresh way. Missing 232!" one person wrote on its Instagram.

The menu focused on vegetables from the restaurant group's own farm in upstate New York.

Patch will keep an eye out for any updates about the new restaurant concept opening in the space.
