Police Release New Images Of Plier-Wielding West Village Mugger
The brute grabbed a woman by the neck and threatened to stab her with pliers unless she coughed up cash, police said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Police released new images Thursday of a mugger armed with a pair of pliers who wrestled a woman outside her West Village home before running off with cash, authorities said.
The crook followed the 26-year-old woman as she descended a flight of stairs to her apartment building at Minetta and Bleecker streets at about 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 26., police said.
That's when the he crept up behind the woman, pushed her against a fence and grabbed her neck. He threatened to stab the woman with the pliers unless she cough up cash, said police.

The woman fought to break free, but the man refused to release her until she agreed to hand over $200 from her wallet.
He grabbed the cash and bolted west on Minetta Street.

Police describe the attacker as 20 to 30-years-old and five-foot-nine.
