Trio Of West Village Restaurants Named Among Best NYC Italian Eateries
A recent list of the 20 best Italian restaurants in New York City featured three in the West Village. Here's which.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — There are few more beloved cuisines in New York City than Italian food, and three West Village restaurants just got named among the best in the five boroughs.
Eater NY recently published a list of "New York City's 20 Top Italian Restaurants."
Here are the three West Village eateries that earned a spot on the list.

Don Angie: 103 Greenwich Ave.
It is no surprise that the often celebrate Don Angie made the list of the top Italian eateries in the city.

The restaurant is run by the husband and wife team of Angie Rito and Scott Tacinelli. It focuses on modern Italian American cuisine.
Here's what Eater NY had to say about it.
"The duo’s creative take on Italian American fare has included caramelle pasta with pickled cantaloupe and buffalo milk mozzarella in the past, and the garlic bread — sesame-seeded flatbread stuffed with stracchino and parmesan — is a consistent hit," Eater NY wrote. "Conclude with a glass of the couple’s amaro, made in-house from sarsaparilla and tasting vaguely of root beer."

L'Artusi: 228 W. 10th St.
The longtime West Village Italian eatery is a neighborhood staple.
It opened in 2008, has over 100 seats inside the restaurant, and offers a 2,500 bottle walk-in wine cellar.
Here's what Eater NY had to say about it.
"It keeps crowds coming back with piles of spaghetti, twists of bolognese-slicked tagliatelle, and plate-sized spreads of shaved wagyu carpaccio splattered with a horseradish cream," Eater NY wrote.

Via Carota: 51 Grove St.
Inspired by a 17th century villa in the hills near Florence, there are few more popular restaurants in the West Village than Via Carota.
The wait will almost always be more than an hour, but the cacio e pepe is considered one of the best in the city.
Here's what Eater NY had to say about it.
"For a larger meal, classics like the grilled chicken and tagliatelle with prosciutto will get the job done, but the stars of the show are often the restaurant’s vegetable dishes: The options change regularly, and it’s hard to go wrong," Eater NY wrote.
