Two Men Stabbed On Greenwich Village Sidewalk, Police Say
Two men were critically injured in a double stabbing on Monday night, according to police.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — Police arrested a man who is believed to have stabbed and critically injured two other men on a Greenwich Village sidewalk late Monday night, authorities said.
Douglas Gaston was arrested Monday night after threatening a teenager with a pair of scissors and stabbing two men, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
Officers responded to a 911 call at about 9:13 p.m. on Monday near 120 West 14th St. and found two men with stab wounds, police said. A conscious 42-year-old man had stab wounds to his chest and an unconscious 32-year-old man had cuts on his right armpit, police said. The 42-year-old and witnesses pointed police to Gaston, who was still near the scene, according to authorities. The 50-year-old fled but was quickly arrested by police, the spokesman said.

Both injured men were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
According to the NYPD's initial investigation, Gaston attacked the two men shortly after he had threatened a 15-year-old with a pair of scissors.

Gaston, who is believed to be homeless, was charged with multiple crimes including assault, police said. Patch was not immediately able to contact his attorney.
