Year-to-date, reported crime is down by nealy 12 percent. And compared to two years ago, crime is still up 34.8 percent year-to-date, and up 33 percent from 13 years ago.

While that still shows a big increase in reported crimes, the even bigger picture shows an image of steadily declining numbers.

In October, that two-year, year-to-date comparison number showed an increase of over 40 percent. And in August, the increase was 60 percent.

In 2022, crime was 8.3 percent higher compared to 2001 numbers.

Despite the uptick, crime numbers last year were still 22 percent lower than 1998 statistics.
