WEST VILLAGE, NY — A handful of West Village tea shops have been named as a great place to steep yourself in tea knowledge, according to a new list.

Two tea shops in the West Village, and one in the Meatpacking District, made the cut, according to the list published by Eater NY.

Paquita, on West 10th Street near Hudson Street, got high marks for its "cottagecore charm," and it's approximately 100 teas available for purchase, including "Young Hyson green tea with blueberries or an Assam black tea with cacao and dates," the list says. The "cozy" shop only allows for meager indoor seating, but an attractive outdoor structure can facilitate some more generous sipping time.

Té Company also made the list, just a few blocks east on West 10th Street near Seventh Avenue. The shop is a "charming" Taiwanese tea parlor, says Eater NY,"from the tiny illustration of a kettle that marks the spot inside an apartment building to the soothing explanations of how rolled tea leaves require more brewing time to unfurl — and the quiet signal for another steeping by resting the kettle lid on its side." The founders sources directly from small mountain farmers in Taiwan and also sells baked goods and treats, according to Eater NY.

Also on the list is a tea spot in the Meatpacking District, The Tea Pavilion at Genesis House on 10th Avenue and West 13th Street. The spot is known for serving up Korean tisanes, which EaterNY writes are made with herbs and fruits as opposed to tea leaves. Described as "stately yet comfy," the tea room features floor pillows and a library of rare books to peruse, according to their website. The Pavilion also offers a "mindful tea master" to guide you through a traditional Korean tea ceremony.
