Woman Attacked, Dragged And Robbed In The West Village: Police

The robber snuck up behind the woman walking in the West Village and dragged her by the hair to the ground, police said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A woman was attacked, pulled to the ground, and robbed recently in the West Village, police said on Monday.

A 35-year-old woman was walking at West 4th Street and Charles Street about 10:55 p.m. on Sept. 25, when a man snuck up from behind her and pulled her down to the ground by her hair, police said.

The man then snatched her purse and ran away, police said.

The purse included the woman's credit cards and ID, police added.

Around 50 minutes later, the robber walked into a bodega at 22 Perry St. and used the woman's card to buy unknown items, police said.

There have been no arrests.
