At 7:00 p.m., the Westhampton Beach School District will hold a public hearing on its proposed $53.5 million budget in the high school auditorium.
The budget reflects a $1.7 million spending increase, accounting for budget line increases for retirement, health insurance and contractual teacher salaries.
In order to meet the state's two percent tax cap, the school board has agreed that it must cut 10 teaching positions, phase out its American Sign Language and Latin programs, as well as cut money from sports programs.
