Incident Reports: Police investigating Neptunes Break-In

Also, street signs were stolen this week from Hampton Bays.

Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department:

Criminal Mischief

• A Quiogue resident called police on Aug. 4 to report that someone damaged his small golf green on his Deerfield Lane  property by doing donuts on his lawn.

Assault

• A Mastic woman called police on Aug. 8 after she said she was kicked in the stomach in Quogue. The woman, police said, would not provide details as to who kicked her or where exactly the incident happened. She did not press charges.

Leaving the Scene

• The Southampton Town Parks and Recreation Department called police on July 31 to report that someone drove their car into the gates to the park on Stewart Avenue in Westhampton. According to the report, there was $500 in damage done to the gate.

Petty Larceny

• A Flanders resident told police on July 30 that someone stole a green and black child’s bike from her front yard on Fern Avenue. The bike is valued at $185.

• A resident of Gravel Hill Road in Hampton Bays told police on July 31 that someone stole a BMX bike, valued at $150, from the front of the Hampton Bays Library on Ponquogu Avenue. The library will be providing cops with video surveillance.

• Someone stole street signs from Oakhurst Road and North Road in Hampton Bays, according to a report filed on July 31.

• A resident of Basket Neck Lane in Remsenburg told police on Aug. 3 that someone stole three automated pool vacuums from her backyard.

• A Westhampton resident called police on Aug. 2 to report  that his ride-on lawn mower was stolen from his front yard on Sweetgrass Road. The mower is valued at $500.

• A business on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays reported that over 40 new Guinea impatiens were stolen from his property sometime between July 27 and the 29.

• A Riverside resident called police on July 21 to report that a iPod was stolen out of his wife’s car, which was parked in their driveway on Woodhull Avenue. The iPod is valued at $150.

Criminal Trespass

• A Hampton Bays resident called police on July 30 to report that someone egged his house on School Street.

Burglary

• A Vail Avenue resident in Riverside told police on July 29 that someone tried to break into her house through a back door window by throwing a rock at it. The resident said she was asleep and was awoken to the sound of breaking glass. She called police, but they did not find anyone in the area.

• Neptunes in Hampton Bays contacted police on July 29 to report that the day before mutiple people broke into the club and sprayed the fire extinguisher on the upstairs deck and also broke a bathroom window. 

Grand Larceny

• Police are looking into a report made by a Hampton Bays woman who told them on Aug. 3 that she sold her iPad 4 on eBay for $699. After she shipped the product, she found out the buyer had used a stolen credit card.
