Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Parked Vehicle, Fleeing: PD

The incident took place in Hampton Bays, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays man was arrested after crashing into a parked vehicle and fleeing the scene Saturday, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, officers responded to the report of a crash in Hampton Bays; police were able to locate the vehicle that left the scene on Maple Avenue in Hampton Bays, police said.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Javier Ramos-Rojas, 29; he was intoxicated, police said.
Ramos-Rojas was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage as well as unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both infractions, police said.

He was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing and held for arraignment, police said.
