HAMPTON BAYS, NY — The people have spoken: Voters headed to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in the annual Hampton Bays School District's budget vote and Board of Education election — and the budget passed by a wide margin of 554 to 134.

The proposed 2024 to 2025 budget of $66,068,400, reflects a 3.32 percent spending increase and a 2.2 percent, within the tax cap limit.

Voters also weighed in on a proposition to use $300,000 in unexpended funds for repairs and renovation. That measure also passed handily, 591 to 95.
