Scholarship Fund Set up in Honor of Hampton Bays Teacher

Friends will hold a fundraiser on Thursday at CowFish to benefit a scholarship in memory of Heather Fitzgerald, according to '27East.'

Following the unexpected death of a 30-year-old Hampton Bays special education teacher's aide, her friends will be setting up a scholarship fund in her memory, according to an article on 27East.com.

Heather Fitzgerald died unexpectedly on June 2 in her home. According to 27East, colleague Karen MacWhinnie and friend Meghan Bishop will be holding a fundraiser for the scholarship fund on Thursday at , from 4 to 6 p.m. MacWhinnie reportedly hopes to raise $1,000 for the fund.

“It’s a great opportunity to honor Heather and to help a graduating senior,” Hampton Bays Superintendent Lars Clemensen told 27East.
