Southampton Police Log: Man Caught Driving Drunk With Kids in Car
Southampton police arrests through August 5.

DWI
• On Aug. 4, Francisco Franco, 37, of Hampton Bays, was charged under Leandra’s law with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. Police said they pulled him over on Gravel Hill Road for failing to stop at a stop sign at about 1 a.m. Police said his two children, ages 4 and 11, were passengers. The children were released to a family member.
• On Aug. 3 Southampton Town police charged Gerardo Rojas-Martinez, 23, of Bridgehampton, with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they pulled Rojas-Martinez over on Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays at about 9:00 p.m. after he swerved. Police said they found an open can of Modelo beer in his car.
• David Zingis, of Point Pleasant, N.J., was arrested after police said he crashed into two parked cars on North Road in Hampton Bays on Aug. 4 at 9 p.m. Police said that after he crashed, he walked away, but police said they managed to catch up with him. He was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident, both misdemeanors. Police said he also did not have a license.
• Monica Hartman, 23, of Seaford, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, after police said she was involved in an accident on Montauk Highway in East Quogue on Aug. 4 at about 8 p.m. Police said Hartman left the scene, but was soon found with the help of the New York State Police K-9 unit. She was additionally charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, a misdemeanor.
• Marie Guigue, 44, of Brooklyn, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, after police pulled her over on Flanders Road in Hampton Bays on July 31 at 10 p.m. for allegedly stopping in a turning lane.
• Donaldo Martinez, 38, of Hampton Bays, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Aug. 3, after police pulled him over for driving through the King Kullen parking lot on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays to avoid a traffic light at about 12:40 a.m. Police said he was also unlicensed.
Drugs
• A Flanders woman was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, on Aug. 2 after police said they pulled her over on Flanders Road for a traffic violation at about 4 a.m. Police said she had heroin and Carisoprodol in her car. Police said she also had a suspended license.
• A 25-year-old passenger in a car that was pulled over on Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, after police said they found MDMA ion Aug. 4 at about 4 a.m. The Hampton Bays man was also cited with an unlawful possession of marijuana charge, a violation.
• Police charged a 27-year-old Patchogue man with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, on July 6 at 5 p.m. after police said they caught him urinating in public at Tiana Beach in Hampton Bays. Police said they found he had Ketamine.
Disorderly Conduct
• A 24-year-old Ronkonkoma man was charged with disorderly conduct, a violation, in Hampton Bays after police said he shouted obscene language and was fighting with patrons inside the Boardy Barn on Aug 4 at 6 p.m.
Larceny
• A 22-year old East Patchogue woman was charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor, on July 27, after police said they found she had several pieces of mail that went missing from a mailbox in Hampton Bays. Police also charged her with petty larceny, also a misdemeanor.
